PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it is difficult to simply and efficiently extract a volatile compound contained in a plant sample or the like by a conventional technique.SOLUTION: A volatile compound extraction device for extracting a volatile compound from a sample containing the volatile compound comprises a vapor-generating portion for generating a vapor not mixed with the volatile compound contained in the sample, a sample-storing portion which can store the sample and is used for ventilating the sample with a vapor generated in the vapor-generating portion, and a volatile compound extraction portion into which a gas mixture comprising the vapor and the volatile compound vaporized in the sample-storing portion by the ventilation can be introduced and which stores a solvent for the introduced volatile compound. Additionally, a volatile compound extraction method comprises extracting a volatile compound from a sample containing the volatile compound with a volatile compound extraction device.
