PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an endoscope illumination unit able to easily prevent displacement of a light guide before adhesive hardens.SOLUTION: The method comprises: a step S1 in which, in a hole through which the light guide is freely inserted, the light guide having a first hole and a second hole, smaller in diameter than the first hole, both of which are formed in a leading-end rigid member, an illumination lens is fixed in the first hole so as to be exposed from a leading end face of the leading-end rigid member a step S2, in which a leading end side of the light guide having fiber and a shape deformation layer, which is deformed so as to partly increase in diameter as heat is applied to a coating over a periphery of the fiber, is inserted into the first hole via the second hole until a leading end of the fiber reaches the illumination lens and a step S4 in which a diameter increased part is formed by increasing the shape deformation layer to a set temperature and making the diameter of part of the shape deformation layer in the first hole larger than the diameter of the second hole, the diameter increased part is brought into contact with a step formed in the hole, and the light guide is fixed in position.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】接着剤が硬化する前におけるライトガイドの位置ずれを容易に防ぐことができる内視鏡用照明ユニットの製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】先端硬質部材に対して形成された第1の孔部と第1の孔部よりも小径な第2の孔部とを有するライトガイドが挿通自在な孔部において、第1の孔部に、先端硬質部材の先端面に露出するよう照明用レンズを固定するステップS1と、ファイバと、該ファイバの外周を被覆する熱の付与に伴い一部が拡径するよう変形する形状変形層とを具備するライトガイドの先端側を、ファイバの先端が照明用レンズに突き当たるまで第2の孔部を介して第1の孔部に挿入するステップS2と、形状変形層に設定温度を付与して、第1の孔部内において形状変形層の一部を第2の孔部よりも大きく拡径させて拡径部を形成し、該拡径部を、孔部に形成された段差部に接触させ、ライトガイドの位置を固定するステップS4と、を具備する。【選択図】図5
