PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collecting work vehicle that is capable of assisting the tension of a winch by the bending force of an arm or boom and the turning force of a swiveling body of a collecting work vehicle and a method for collecting materials by a collecting work vehicle.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided a collecting work vehicle 100 comprising: a base machine composed of a traveling body 101 and a swiveling body 102 a boom 104 attached to the rotating body 102 an arm 106 attached to the boom 104 a wire W1 for attracting a collecting material to the side of the base machine and a winch 109 attached to the rotating body 102 or the boom 104 to wind up the wire W1. Here, the work vehicle performs bending and stretching movements by the boom 104 and the arm 106.
