PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical guide wire capable of accurately and quickly mounting a coil spring to a predetermined position of a distal end side small-diameter part of a core wire in manufacture.SOLUTION: A medical guide wire includes: a core wire 10 having a proximal end side large-diameter part 11, a distal end side small-diameter part 13 and a step part 12 and a coil spring 20 mounted to the outer periphery of the distal end side small-diameter part of the core wire in the axial direction.
