A method for the identification and anthropometric classification of the human body comprises steps of acquiring images of the body by a scanning apparatus provided with a plurality of acquisition devices placed around the sample to be scanned, each acquisition device comprising a light source and a camera, processing the acquired images to form a point cloud and then a mathematical model of the human sample, identifying body potions, measuring peculiar sizes of the body portions and than assigning the body portions to anthropometric classes as a function of a comparison with data stored in specific databases. A system for identification and anthropometric classification comprises a three dimensional scanning apparatus particularly suitable to be self-operated and processing units which are able to process the acquired data and perform the assignment to anthropometric classes.L'invention concerne un procédé pour l'identification et la classification anthropométrique du corps humain qui comprend les étapes suivantes : acquisition d'images du corps par un appareil de balayage muni d'une pluralité de dispositifs d'acquisition placés autour de l'échantillon à analyser, chaque dispositif d'acquisition comprenant une source lumineuse et une caméra, traitement des images acquises pour former un nuage de points, puis un modèle mathématique de l'échantillon humain, identification de parties du corps, mesure de dimensions particulières des parties du corps, puis affectation des parties du corps à des classes anthropométriques en fonction d'une comparaison avec des données stockées dans des bases de données spécifiques. Un système d'identification et de classification anthropométrique selon l'invention comprend un appareil de balayage tridimensionnel particulièrement approprié à un fonctionnement automatique et des unités de traitements pouvant traiter les données acquises et d'effectuer l'affectation à des classes anthropométriques.
