The present invention generally relates to a device for fastening a hernia mesh. The present invention provides a surgical fastening device, at least in part, including a shaft with a fastener carrier disposed within the shaft, wherein the carrier is configured to receive a plurality of different sized fasteners. Different sized fasteners can be preloaded in the replaceable carrier, or even replaced in the carrier in the fastening device.
