PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus not having the following problems or the like: by exceeding an upper limit value of a temperature of an abutment face on a test subject, use is suspended or properties of an element transmitting/receiving an ultrasonic wave deteriorates.SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes: an ultrasonic probe having the transmission/reception element transmitting/receiving the ultrasonic wave and a transmission/reception circuit a body unit having an image generation part, a control part, an operation part, and a display part and a power supply line supplying power to the ultrasonic probe from the body unit. The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus also includes a power control part for the probe shutting off the supply of the power to the ultrasonic probe by shutting off the current carrying to the power supply line.
