The present invention relates to an air tightness maintaining device for a retort sterilizer, which is capable of improving durability of a ring-shaped gasket and easily replacing a ring-shaped gasket by forming a ring-shaped gasket on a contact surface of a flange of a sterilizing tank to protrude from the contact surface of the flange of the sterilizing tank only when air tightness is maintained. According to the present invention, the air tightness maintaining device for a retort sterilizer is interposed between a door and a sterilizing tank of a retort sterilizer to seal a gap, and comprises: a ring-shaped groove formed on the contact surface of the flange of the sterilizing tank a ring-shaped gasket accommodated in the ring-shaped groove to be able to move forward and backward and a compressed air supply unit connected to the rear side of the ring-shaped groove, supplying compressed air into the ring-shaped groove when the door is closed, and forcibly moving the ring-shaped gasket forward to be closely placed on the flange of the door.본 발명은 링형개스킷이 멸균탱크의 플랜지의 접촉면 상에 설치되되 기밀유지시에만 멸균탱크의 플랜지의 접촉면으로부터 돌출되도록 구성됨에 따라 링형개스킷의 내구성이 증대됨과 동시에 링형개스킷의 교체작업이 용이하게 이루어질 수 있도록 한 레토르트 살균기용 기밀유지장치에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따른 레토르트 살균기용 기밀유지장치는, 레토르트 살균기의 멸균탱크와 도어 사이에 개재되어 틈새를 밀봉시키는 레토르트 살균기용 기밀유지장치에 있어서, 상기 멸균탱크의 플랜지의 접촉면 상에 형성되는 링형그루브와, 상기 링형그루브 내에 전후이동 가능하게 수용되는 링형개스킷과, 상기 링형그루브의 후방측에 연결되고 상기 도어의 폐쇄시에 상기 링형그루브 내에 압축공기를 공급하여 상기 링형개스킷을 전방으로 강제이동시켜 상기 도어의 플랜지에 밀착되도록 하는 압축공기공급유닛을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
