The present invention relates to methods of treating, preventing, suppressing, and/or ameliorating Hepatitis C viral infection (HCV) comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a compound that inhibits/decreases delta9 specific stearoyl-coenzyme A desaturase (SCD) activity and/or expression. In preferred embodiments, the SCD is SCD1.
