PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release tool which can replace a wrist band for a newborn baby, which is not generally removed from the wrist until the newborn baby is discharged once it is attached to the wrist, and which can adjust the attachment state of the wrist band to prevent falling off of the wrist band due to a characteristic change (tightening) in a newborn babys body.SOLUTION: An identification wrist band 1 includes: a band main body in which a display part and a locking part 5 having a plurality of locking holes are continuously formed and a locking mechanism part. After the identification wrist band is attached to the wrist of a newborn baby, a release tool is used to release the fitting and locking state of the locking mechanism part. The release tool has a pair of end parts 32a, 33a and grip parts 32, 33 which are connected through a shaft, and the end parts can be opened and closed by operating the grip parts. The end parts each are provided with pins which protrude from the end parts in parallel with each other.
