A multi-directional fluid management device is described. In some example embodiments, an apparatus for managing fluid may comprise an absorbent core and one or more layers of fluid acquisition and collection material. The fluid acquisition and delivery material can provide a shell or envelope that takes the fluid and distributes it to the absorbent core for storage. The collection and distribution material can distribute fluid as the absorbent core expands. The apparatus can further include an absorbent core and an exudate container that provides a casing for fluid acquisition and collection layers.
