Porcine tissues were screened for the presence of Adeno-Associated Viruses(AAV). Several AAV sequences wereisolated from various porcine tissues, and BLAST analysis confirmed high tolow homology with known AAV sequences of differentorigin. Sequence analysis confirmed the isolation of at least three novelporcine AAV isolates which we named AAVpo1, -po2, and-po3. Novel AAVs derived from porcine tissues may significantly contribute tothe generation of new preventive or curative clinicalmodalities acceptable for human use.
