The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for counting pills, the method comprising the steps of: receiving data from a drug counting sensor every timestamp； determining whether, at the current timestamp, detection data obtained by an object passing through a detection face of the drug counting sensor among the data is due to noise； and if the detection data is not due to noise, comparing the detection data with detection data of a previous timestamp of the current timestamp to count pills. Accordingly, a plurality of optical sensors can be used to accurately and quickly count pills falling into a drug collection unit.약품 계수 센서로부터 매 타임스탬프마다 데이터를 수신하는 단계, 현재 타임스탬프에서, 데이터 중 상기 약품 계수 센서의 탐지면을 통과하는 물체에 의해 획득되는 탐지 데이터가 노이즈에 의한 것인지 여부를 판단하는 단계, 그리고 탐지 데이터가 노이즈에 의한 것이 아니면, 탐지 데이터와 현재 타임스탬프의 이전 타임스탬프의 탐지 데이터를 비교하여 정제 약품을 계수하는 단계를 통해 정제 약품을 계수하는 방법 및 장치가 제공된다.
