The present invention concerns dental prosthetic devices and implants partially and/or fully coated with covalently bound doxycycline. The invention further relates to the use of Doxycycline for promoting soft tissue healing and/or preventing inflammation and/or infection in soft tissue in proximity to a medical prosthetic device or implant deployed in the body of a patient belonging to a group high-risk patient group.
