PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode illumination component 50, an LED coupling 220, a connection component 4 and a dental handpiece device 1 which prevent the illuminance from varying even when adopted for a dental unit usable at any of various voltage levels and also prevent an LED from being broken as a result of the LED being inserted in the wrong direction.SOLUTION: The light emitting diode illumination component 50 includes a light emitting diode section 51 having a light emitting diode element 77 and a connection terminals 54 and an electric power control section 56 for controlling an electric system to be supplied to the light emitting diode element 77 via the connection terminals 54, the electric power control section 56 has constant electric current diodes 57 and 58 restricting the amount of electric current to be supplied to the light emitting diode element 77 and a diode 64 protecting the light emitting diode element 77against a reverse voltage.
