To provide technique suppressing a photographing error while suppressing power consumption, in a radiation imaging system using a plurality of radiation imaging apparatuses.SOLUTION: A radiation imaging system includes a plurality of radiation imaging apparatuses, the radiation imaging apparatus has configuration capable of detecting that radiation irradiation from a radiation generation device has been started and includes an output unit outputting a first detection signal indicating that the device itself has detected start of the radiation irradiation and a receiving unit receiving a second detection signal indicating that another radiation imaging apparatus has detected start of the radiation irradiation. In capturing of an irradiation image, when the radiation imaging apparatus has detected start of the radiation irradiation in a first state where start of the radiation irradiation can be detected, a state is shifted to a second state for generating radiation image data, and causes the output unit to output the first detection signal.
