The present method for informing disabled persons about public transport vehicles arriving at a stop and for enhancing the safety of said persons when alighting a vehicle and the present system for implementing said method relate to ways and means of enabling visually impaired individuals to use audio perception in place of direct visual perception, and can be used for informing and guiding visually disabled persons when navigating urban areas and using transport. A disabled subscriber device automatically transmits a request signal into the airwaves. A radio module of each vehicle transmits a response to this request signal into the airwaves. The subscriber device automatically sends an information transmission request signal to the first vehicle radio module from which a response is received. The radio module in question transmits into the airwaves a message about the vehicle on which it is installed. If the disabled user does not require the vehicle in question, the users subscriber device sends, at the users command, an information transmission request signal to the second vehicle from which a response is received, and so on until the disabled user selects the vehicle they require. Once the necessary vehicle has been selected, the subscriber device issues a special alighting signal into the airwaves at the users command. The radio module of the vehicle selected by the disabled user transmits the users special alighting signal to the drivers control panel.
