The present invention refers to the use of a glycerophosphate derivative like lipoteichoic acid or mono- or polyglycerophosphate in antibacterial treatment of a surface or in antibacterially covering a surface, an antibacterial preparation preventing bacterial adhesion, a bacterially challenged surface or a medical device comprising at least one such lipoteichoic acid or mono- or polyglycerophosphate or its use in blocking adhesion sites of gram-positive bacteria.
