PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lactic acid bacteria which has high growth ability in milk and high adhesiveness to alimentary canal mucosa.SOLUTION: The invention provides a non-intestinal Lactococcus or Lactobacillus lactic acid bacteria which has lactose-utilizing ability and high growth ability in milk, and adhesiveness to alimentary canal mucosa equivalent to Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG strain or more than it, and a method for enhancing adhesiveness of non-intestinal lactic acid bacteria to alimentary canal mucosa which comprises culturing and non-intestinal Lactococcus or Lactobacillus lactic acid bacteria, using sugar which increases gastric mucin compared with glucose, as a carbon source.
