A pressure sensor wire assembly for measuring pressure inside a body of a patient comprises a pressure sensor wire with a pressure sensor element at its distal portion. The pressure sensor is adapted to measure pressure and to generate a pressure sensor signal representative of the measured pressure. The pressure sensor wire is connected at its proximal end to a transceiver unit, which sends the pressure signal via a communication unit to an external physiology monitor. The assembly further comprises an external pressure sensor, arranged in the communication unit and adapted to measure an external pressure outside the patients body and to generate an external pressure value in dependence thereto. The transceiver unit is used as a torque device and provided with guiding means adapted to guide the pressure sensor wire during insertion into a patient and when the wire is fixated to the transceiver unit.
