The invention provides an anhydrous oral care composition comprising a particulate calcium carbonate composed of primary particles which are acicular and which have a length of 2 microns or greater, the composition being adapted to be applied to the surface of the teeth in a mixture with water； for the treatment of hypersensitivity arising in natural human teeth. The mixture of the anhydrous oral care composition with water is effective as a dentinal tubule occluding agents. Furthermore the acicular calcium carbonate (as defined above) can provide a smooth and pleasant mouth-feel when formulated into products such as dentifrices.L'invention concerne une composition de soin buccal anhydre comprenant un carbonate de calcium particulaire composé de particules primaires qui sont aciculaires et qui ont une longueur de 2 microns ou plus, la composition étant conçue pour être appliquée sur la surface des dents et mélangée avec de l'eau ； pour le traitement d'hypersensibilité survenant dans des dents humaines naturelles.
