A method for managing a crop on a field, comprising performing a first operation on the crop with a first crop processing vehicle, performing a second operation on the crop with a second crop processing vehicle, all selected from mowing, conditioning, tedding, raking, picking-up and baling and of a different type, wherein, during the first operation, a first machine setting of the first processing vehicle is set, and/or a first parameter value of the crop or the first crop processing vehicle during the performing of the first operation is determined, wherein, during the second operation, a second machine setting of the second processing vehicle is automatically set on the basis of said first machine setting as set and/or said first parameter value as determined during said first operation. Hereby, the second operation may be optimally adapted to the first operation. Particularly, if the first machine setting or parameter value is recorded position dependently, the second operation may be optimised position dependently as well, such as adapting a local tedding height to a local mowing height. Similarly, a system and computer program product are provided for carrying out the method.
