摘要:
A respiratory assistance system (1, 100, 200) for supplying a user with a stream of humidified and heated gases for therapeutic purposes, comprising: a humidifying unit (5, 105, 205) having an intake port (23, 123, 223) and an outlet orifice (9, 109, 209), said humidifier unit being adapted to receive, in use, a flow of gases from a gas source (13, 113, 213) through said hole of admission, said humidifier unit being further adapted to contain and heat a volume of water (20, 120, 220) in use, passing, in use, said flow of gases through said humidifier unit and heating and humidifying, leaving said gases humidified and heated from said humidifier unit through said humidifier unit outlet orifice, a supply conduit (6, 106, 206) and a user interface (7, 107, 207) configured to receive, in use, said gases humidified and heated from said outlet orifice to supply said user, said supply conduit having a heating wire (75) adapted to heat the gases within said conduit, a flow probe (61, 161, 261) adapted to measure the flow rate actual of said gas stream through said system; a temperature sensor at the patient end (15, 115, 215) adapted to measure the temperature of said gas flow in or near said patient; and said respiratory assistance system further comprising a controller (8, 108, 208) adapted to receive data from said temperature sensor at the patient end (15, 115, 215) related to the measured temperature and data from said flow probe (61, 161, 261) related to said actual flow, said controller (8, 108, 208) determining a control output in response, wherein said control output is associated with a target temperature in said temperature sensor in the patient end for a given flow level, said control output adjusting the power to at least said heating wire (75) to maintain or change the temperature of said gas flow within said conduit (6, 106, 206) to make said temperature measured by said temperature sensor at the patient end (15, 115, 215) coincide with said target temperatur
