The leadless spacemaker delivery and retrieval catheter system includes a leadless spacemaker, a docking cap, and a retriever, respectively. The retriever includes a flexible gripper that interacts with the docking cap. Then, when the flexible gripper is arranged in the chamber of the docking cap, the flexible gripper is locked to the docking protrusion of the leadless space maker by the docking cap. Alternatively, the retriever has a pair of lumens through which snare wires are formed to form respective loops. By displacing the snare wire with respect to the lumen, the snare wire is clamped around the docking protrusion of the leadless space maker.
