PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner and an electrolytic water mist generator which prevent uneven scale from adhering to an electrode of an electrolytic water producer.SOLUTION: The air cleaner 1 includes a casing 20, an air flowing passage 27 formed in the casing 20, an air cleaning device 28 and a fan 29 arranged in the air flowing passage 27 and an electrolytic water mist generating unit 43. In an electrolytic cell 70 of the electrolytic water producer 73, a first electrode 71 and a second electrode 72 which alternately serve as an anode and as a cathode and an electrode 74 for detecting dearth of water are provided. A voltage (voltage 1) between the first electrode 71 and the electrode 74 for detecting dearth of water and a voltage (voltage 2) between the second electrode 72 and the electrode 74 for detecting dearth of water are measured and compared. In accordance with the comparison, the ratio of time of the cathode is determined between the first electrode 71 and the second electrode 72.
