A device for stabilizing the umbilical cord during manipulations such as phlebotomy. In one embodiment the ends of the device terminate in proximity to one another and can interact to form a closing/opening mechanism. The closing and opening of the interacting ends similarly open and close a space at the opposite end of the device which encloses the umbilical cord. When the two ends are in the Open configuration the device comprises a space for the umbilical cord to enter the umbilical cord holding region of the device, and when the two ends are in the closed configuration the umbilical cord holding region of the device closes around the umbilical cord, thereby holding the umbilical cord firmly in place.La présente invention concerne un dispositif permettant de stabiliser le cordon ombilical durant des manipulations telles quune phlébotomie. Selon un mode de réalisation, les extrémités du dispositif se terminent à proximité lune de lautre et peuvent interagir pour former un mécanisme de fermeture/ouverture. La fermeture et louverture desdites extrémités interagissant ainsi entraînent louverture et la fermeture dans le même temps dun espace situé à lextrémité opposée du dispositif et dans lequel se trouve enfermé le cordon ombilical. Lorsque les deux extrémités sont en configuration « ouverte », le dispositif comprend un espace permettant au cordon ombilical de pénétrer dans la zone de retenue du cordon ombilical du dispositif, et lorsque les deux extrémités sont en configuration « fermée », la zone de retenue du cordon ombilical du dispositif se referme autour du cordon ombilical, ce qui le maintient solidement en place.
