PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional agent having an extremely excellent antioxidant function obtained by isolating from Theaceae plants (particularly Camellia sinensis leaves).SOLUTION: A functional agent having antioxidant activity is characterized by that, provided that a distilled component when dry-distilling a plant raw material in hydrous condition under low temperature and reduced pressure conditions using a dry distillation apparatus equipped with a decompression mechanism is named "low-temperature decompression dry-distilled distillate (D)", and a dry powder or flaky bottom residue remained in the dry distillation apparatus after a low-temperature decompression dry-distillation operation thereof is named "low-temperature decompression dry-distillation residue (R)", the above plant raw material is a leaf of Theaceae plants, and an extractable matter (E) when extracted from the low-temperature decompression dry-distillation residue (R) of the leaf of Theaceae plants with a solvent is contained as an active ingredient.SELECTED DRAWING: NoneCOPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT【課題】 ツバキ科植物(特に茶の葉部)から分離取得した極めてすぐれた抗酸化機能を有する機能剤を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】 減圧機構を備えた乾留装置を用いて含水状態にある植物原料を低温かつ減圧条件下に乾留したときに留出する成分を「低温減圧乾留留出液(D)」としかつその低温減圧乾留操作後にその乾留装置内に残る乾燥状態の粉末ないしフレーク状の缶残を「低温減圧乾留残渣(R)」と称するとき、上記の植物原料がツバキ科植物の葉部であること、および、そのツバキ科植物の葉部の低温減圧乾留残渣(R)を溶媒により抽出したときの抽出分(E)を有効成分とするものであることを特徴とする抗酸化活性を有する機能剤である。【選択図】なし
