PURPOSE: An adaptive noise canceller of single channel for heart sound enhancement and a method thereof are provided to remove noise from the sound which is transferred through a stethoscope by generating a reference signal. CONSTITUTION: In an adaptive noise canceller of single channel for heart sound enhancement and a method thereof, a receiver(110) receives sound from a stethoscope. A reference signal generator(130) comprises a BS gate and a heart sound analysis section. The heart sound analysis section analyzes the amplitude of the received sound. The heart sound analysis section generates a control signal corresponding to the noise from the sound. The BS gate generates the reference signal. A noise cancellation part(150) comprises an adaptive filter and an operator The adaptive filter presumes noises within the received sound.
