PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image observation system capable of raising retrieval efficiency for specifying a similar case image.
SOLUTION: A medical image storage part 13 stores data of a plurality of medical images regarding a plurality of photographing areas photographed in a catheter surgery. A template map storage part 19 stores data of a template map including a plurality of pixel areas associated with the plurality of medical images. A similar case image specification part 27 specifies a pixel area approximately matching a photographing area regarding an image for inspection on anatomy from among the plurality of pixel areas on the template map. Then, the similar case image specification part 27 specifies the similar case image associated with the specified pixel region from among the plurality of medical images stored in the medical image storage part 13. A display part 31 displays the specified similar case image.
