To provide a liquid-absorbing material having a multiple-layered structure having a coating layer part uniformly dyed in a short time after being used and also being produced inexpensively and easily.
SOLUTION: The liquid-absorbing material has a granular core part and the coating layer part for coating the granular core part, the coating layer part includes a base material having a composition ratio of 99.0 to 99.93 wt.%, and a dyeing material having a composition ratio of 1.0 to 0.07 wt.%, the dyeing material contains a porous adsorbent having an adsorption ratio of not less than 25 wt.% and having fine pores, and a water soluble dyestuff adsorbed in the fine pores of the porous adsorbent, the water soluble dyestuff is added to be 0.010 to 0.017 pt.wt based ON 100 pts.wt coating layer part and also the coating layer part is configured to be dyed by bringing an external water content into contact with the water soluble dyestuff.
