The present invention relates to biopsy forceps for an endoscope. The biopsy forceps for an endoscope comprise: forceps that are opened and closed so as to collect tissues or discharge collected tissues； a wire for opening and closing the forceps； a handle assembly controlled by an operator so as to operate the wire and to open or close the forceps thereby； and a locking device equipped in the handle assembly so as to lock the operation of the handle assembly so that the forceps are maintained in a closed state. The locking device uses, for example, a plate spring or a rack gear and pinion gear. Once tissues are collected in the forceps, the locking device locks the operation of the handle assembly so that the forceps are maintained in a closed state.
