The present invention relates to an antibacterial composition, and more specifically, to an antibacterial composition which comprises an extract or fraction of Sargassum serratifolium as an effective component and thus, has an antibacterial effect that may be used as an ingredient for cosmetic products, multi-purpose cleansers, preservatives, additives and the like.
