PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suture thread which is made of a microfiber comprising a biocompatible thermoplastic resin, has an improved tensile strength and flexibility, and shows a high handleability, and to provide its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION: This suture thread comprises a bundle of the microfiber consisting of a biocompatible thermoplastic resin and having an average fiber diameter of 10 to 1,000 nm has a tensile strength of 1.5 cN/dtex or higher, and a knot strength of 1.5 to 6.0 cN/dtex.
