PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edible fatty oil exhibiting properties similar to those of conventional fatty oil, and inhibitory effects on body weight gain as compared with the ingestion of the amount similar to that of the conventional fatty oil, and to provide a method for production by which the edible fatty oil suitable for prophylactic measures for diseases, and treatment of the diseases can be produced according to an extremely simple means.
SOLUTION: The production of the edible fatty oil includes carrying out a heat treatment in such a state that a vegetable protein material contacts the fatty oil.
