PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water insoluble alginate film which can be more simply and inexpensively produced, and has improved convenience when used, in a water insoluble using alginate； and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A method for a water insoluble alginate film includes a starch coated film applying step of applying a starch coating agent formed of starch, a plasticizer, and an aqueous solution having calcium chloride onto a base member 30 of a resin film member to form a starch coated film 10, and a thickening coated film applying step of applying a thickening coating agent formed of aqueous solution containing sodium alginate onto the starch coated film to form a thickening coated film 20； and forms a water-insolubilized film 40 on the base member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
