PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel extract having anticancer activity extracted from a plant.SOLUTION: The invention relates to an extract from a plant of Graptopetalum sp., Rhodiola sp. or Echeveria sp. with dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and a fraction thereof or a compound isolated from the extract. The present invention also relates to a novel approach for treating cancer or fibrosis, such as Hepatocellular carcinoma, or liver fibrosis using the extract or the compound isolated from the extract.
