Use of Manna ash or its extract (I) as a cosmetic active agent, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) a cosmetic or dermatological composition comprising (I)； and (2) a device in the form of a pot, pump-dispenser bottle, wipe, mask, transdermal device, patch, spray, capsule or granules, comprising (I) or the composition. ACTIVITY : Dermatological； Angiogenesis Stimulator； Endocrine-Gen. MECHANISM OF ACTION : 5-Alpha reductase activator. The ability of (I) to activate 5-alpha reductase was tested in transformed human fibroblast culture. The result showed that (I) increased the activity of 5-alpha reductase cells to 151% to stimulate the production of sebum and to recreate a watertight and hydrophobic barrier.La présente invention se rapporte à l'utilisation cosmétique d'un extrait de manne de frêne, à une composition cosmétique, dermatologique ou pharmaceutique comprenant un extrait de manne de frêne, ainsi qu'à un procédé cosmétique mettant en œuvre un extrait de manne de frêne. On appelle la manne de frêne, la sève séchée à l'air libre qui s'écoule notamment le long du tronc de Fraxinus ornus L. La présente invention trouve ses applications dans le domaine de la cosmétique, de la dermatologique et dans le domaine pharmaceutique. Elle permet notamment de traiter les peaux sèches et/ou déshydratées.
