PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container assembly and a freezing method suitable for housing and freezing of seaweed roots or the like.SOLUTION: A container assembly 1 comprises: a container body 2 having a bottom plate 5 with numerous air circulation holes 7 and the side plates 6a to 6d, opening upward and housing seaweed roots； a platy cover member 3 disposed inside the upper end of the container body 2； and two pressing fixation members 4 gotten across on the upper face of the cover member 3 at the positions different from each other.
