The valve (1) has a housing (3) including a housing interior (11) through which process fluid flows. A valve member (13) i.e. valve cone, and a valve seat (15) are provided in the interior, where a flow cross-section of the valve is variable depending on a relative position between the valve member and valve seat for adjusting a process medium flow (S). A thermoelectric element is arranged in the interior, where an electrical power supply is provided for a position sensor at a place of arrangement of the element due to temperature difference that is associated with pressure difference. An independent claim is also included for a method for providing electrical power for an electrical consumer of a process technical plant.
