The present invention makes it possible to analyze (evaluate the characteristics of, identify the attributes of, etc.) a mixed sample (in particular a complex/heterogeneous mixed sample) through the use of information about the mixed sample that could not be and/or was not conventionally used. In one embodiment of the present invention, a method for processing electromagnetic wave signals that originate from a mixed sample includes generating audible-range data or visible-range data from the electromagnetic wave signals and includes converting the audible-range data or visible-range data into sound or color and outputting the converted sound or color as information that indicates the properties of the mixed sample.
