An IOL injector cartridge comprising: upper and lower walls together forminganintegrated unit that defines a lumen that extends from a proximal end to adistal end； anopen slot extending through the entire thickness of the upper wall andextending fromthe proximal end and having a slot distal end formed by a portion of an edgeof theupper wall； wherein said portion of the edge of the upper wall has a convexcurvatureand at least partially defines the slot distal end, the curvature occurringalong thethickness of the edge； and a hepatic control feature selected from the groupconsistingof: (a) a raised feature extending up from the upper wall forming a curvedsidewall toaccommodate a curved haptic of the IOL； and (b) a shelf being disposed inside,andextending from a side of, the lumen.
