PURPOSE: A lightweight shovel is provided to allow a user to easily scoop snow, crops and the likes. CONSTITUTION: A lightweight shovel includes a shovel body, a metal reinforcing member, and a binding piece (6). The shovel body is made of lightweight metals which are lighter than iron. The metal reinforcing member is combined with the front of the shovel body by the binding piece. The reinforcing member includes a connection unit (10) which is combined with a shovel blade by the binding piece, a hanging protrusion support unit (12) having a support surface, and an inclined blade unit (14) which has an inclined surface of which the front is lower than the lower surface of the connection unit.본 발명의 경량 삽은 철에 비해 가벼운 알루미늄재와 같은 경량금속재로 된 삽 본체(2) 선단의 삽날부(2a)에 스텐레스스틸 재질의 금속재 보강부재(4)를 체결편(6)으로 결합 구성하되, 그 보강부재(4)는 삽날부(2a)와 면접하여 체결편(6)으로 체결 고정되는 연결부(10)와, 연결부(10)에서 절곡되어 삽날부(2a) 선단이 턱걸림 받침되게 받침면(12a)을 갖는 걸림턱받침부(12)와, 걸림턱받침부(12)에서 절곡된 경사면을 갖되 경사면 선단이 연결부(10)의 하면보다 더 낮게 형성된 경사날부(14)로 형성하여서 구성함으로써, 삽날에 부착되는 보강부재의 체결부에 하중이 집중되지 않도록 구성함으로써 오랫동안 사용해도 파손되지 않으며 경량삽이 마모되지 않도록 해준다.
