Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for predicting suicidal behavior in major depressive disorders based on frontal alpha asymmetry and frontal lobe activity asymmetry. According to various embodiments of the present invention, the method for predicting suicidal behavior in major depressive disorders based on frontal alpha asymmetry and frontal lobe activity asymmetry comprises the steps of: classifying a plurality of melancholiacs into a left brain type (LD) group and a right brain type (RD) group； measuring brainwave signals in a region of interest (ROI) related to frontal alpha asymmetry of the plurality of melancholiacs； calculating asymmetry indexes of a low alpha band and a high alpha band from the brainwave signals； checking an asymmetry index of a low alpha band of the melancholiacs belonging to the LD group and an asymmetry index of a high alpha band of the melancholiacs belonging to the RD group； and predicting suicidal behavior of the melancholiacs by using the asymmetry index of the low alpha band and the asymmetry index of the high alpha band. Other embodiments are also possible.본 발명의 다양한 실시 예는 전두 알파 비대칭 및 전두엽 활성도 비대칭에 기반한 주요 우울 장애에서 자살 행위 예측 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 다양한 실시 예에 따르면, 전두 알파 비대칭 및 전두엽 활성도 비대칭에 기반한 주요 우울 장애에서 자살 행위 예측 방법은 복수의 우울증 환자들을 좌뇌형(LD) 그룹과 우뇌형(RD) 그룹으로 분류하는 단계； 상기 복수의 우울증 환자들의 전두 알파 비대칭과 관련된 관심 영역(ROI)에서 뇌파 신호를 측정하는 단계； 상기 뇌파 신호에서 저알파 밴드와 고알파 밴드의 비대칭 지수를 연산하는 단계； 상기 좌뇌형 그룹에 속한 우울증 환자의 저알파 밴드의 비대칭 지수와 상기 우뇌형 그룹에 속한 우울증 환자의 고알파 밴드의 비대칭 지수를 확인하는 단계； 및 상기 저알파 밴드의 비대칭 지수와 상기 고알파 밴드의 비대칭 지수를 이용하여 상기 우울증 환자의 자살 행위를 예측하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다. 다른 실시 예들도 가능할 수 있다.
