PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus hardly imparting closed feeling to a patient by combining a gradient magnetic coil and a high-frequency coil.SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes: a static magnetic field generating unit arranged around a photographic space in which a subject is placed and generating a horizontal static magnetic field in the photographic space a gradient magnetic field generating unit arranged on the photographic space side of the static magnetic field generating unit and generating a gradient magnetic field in the photographic space and a high-frequency magnetic field generating unit arranged on the photographic space side of the gradient magnetic field generating unit and generating a high-frequency magnetic field in the photographic space.
