A method for assessing the efficacy of the rehabilitation treatment in arterial hypertension patients comprises the analysis of the parameters indicative of the subjective and objective state of the patient such as decreasing complaints, improvement of the diastolic function of the left ventricle, the decrease of the arterial blood pressure, decrease of the index of myocardial mass of the left ventricle, the reduced thickness of intima-media in the common carotid artery. Each parameter is scored in the points. The distinctive features of the method proposed consists in accounting for several additional factors such as systolic function of the left ventricle, endothelial function, microcirculation, quality of life (physical and psychical components), overall cardiovascular risk, the rate of pulse wave propagation. Each parameter is assessed in points from 0 to 2 depending on the extent of the positive changes as compared to the initial level, namely 0 &ndash no improvement or improvement by less than 10 % 1 &ndash 10-20 % improvement 2 &ndash improvement by 20 % and more or the attainment of target level. The index of treatment efficacy (TE) is calculated as (&Sgrpoints):2n, wherein &Sgrpoints is a sum of points being scored following the treatment (conventional units), n &ndash number of factors taken into account.
