PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique allowing a patient to walk at his/her own pace when the patient wearing a weight-relieved walking assist device performs gait training with a treadmill.SOLUTION: A weight relief unit 5 relieves the weight of a walking assist device 3 that is attached to an affected leg of a patient performing gait training on a walking surface P and assists bending/stretching exercises of the knee joint of the affected leg. The weight relief unit 5 includes: a front weight relief wire 32 extending obliquely from the walking assist device 3 to a walking-direction front side and upward side； a front rewind motor 30 capable of rewinding the front weight relief wire 32； and a pullout amount sensor 41 for detecting a pullout amount of the front weight relief wire 32 from the front rewind motor 30.
