Disclosed herein are microvessel endothelial cell surface markers and methods, compositions, agents, and kits relating to those surface markers. In some aspects, disclosed herein is a method of delivering an agent to a microvessel endothelial cell in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a microvessel endothelial cell targeting agent which binds to a protein expressed on the surface of a microvessel endothelial cell.
