Disclosed herein is an improved closed algae cultivation system that has an algae supplier, a first conduit, at least two containers, and at least two light light-emitting devices. The algae supplier is coupled to the at least two containers via the first conduit. Each container includes at least one sidewall, a bottom and an upper lid, which together define an accommodating volume for accommodating an algal stock culture from the algae supplier. Each container is made of at least one opaque material and includes a first opening disposed on one of the at least one sidewall, and a second opening disposed at the bottom.
