Readily-absorbable calcium compositions in the prior art have the problem that the large particle sizes thereof result in the composition precipitating soon after being added to beverages and the like. These compositions also have the problem that increasing the fineness of the particle size by means of wet milling requires time and incurs costs. In the present invention a calcium salt is produced by dripping a carboxylic acid solution into a slaked lime slurry that is being stirred and granules of said calcium salt are manufactured by means of spray drying. As a result it is possible to keep the size of the primary particles of the calcium salt small and it is possible to prevent the occurrence of precipitate derived from the calcium salt.
