The embodiment of the proposed invention relates to a prefilled syringe containing methyl ergotamine for aseptic and proper dosage administration. The present syringe is prefilled with methyl ergotamine and hence there is no requirement of methyl ergotamine vial or ampoule and further no requirement of syringe to be filled from the said vial or ampoule prior to administration. This eliminates the risk of contamination. In addition, there are no chances of glass or other particles to enter the drug solution while breaking the tip of said vials or ampoules to fill the syringe from it. Also, there is no risk of dosage errors due to erroneous handling while filing the syringe from the vial or ampoule. Therefore, chances of contamination while diluting, dilution errors and resultant dosage variability, is eliminated. And separate handling of diluting solutions is not required.
